The Western Regional wing of the Forestry Commission (FC), has secured overall victory in the Corporate Games organised by management of the Takoradi Mall as part of this year’s May Day celebrations.
The event brought together a broad spectrum of corporate institutions across the Western Region in a display of athleticism, teamwork and inter-organisational camaraderie. Participating organisations included Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), MTN Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Shoprite, Ecobank Ghana, MultiChoice Ghana, Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Takoradi Flour Mill (TML), YFM Ghana and Vodafone Ghana.
Competitors participated in a variety of sporting disciplines, including football, volleyball, table tennis and other indoor games, as well the sack race, lime-and-spoon race, 100-metre sprint and padlock-opening challenge.
The Forestry Commission’s team was a unified contingent drawn from its three divisions in the Western Region namely: The Forest Services Division (FSD) led by Nana Poku Bosompim, Regional Manager; the Timber Industry Development Division (TIDD), Mr. Agyei Kusi Samuel, Human Resource Manager and the Wildlife Division (WD), Mr. Ofori Amanfo, Regional Manager.
Coordination of the Commission’s participation was spearheaded by a special organising committee led by Ms. Pearl Sebuabe, Manager in charge of Contracts at TIDD.
At the close of the competition, the Forestry Commission, Western Region, was crowned overall champions and presented with a prestigious trophy by the Finance Manager of the Takoradi Mall, Madam Kafui Ativor, in recognition of their outstanding performance across multiple events.
The Corporate Games concluded with a vibrant funfair attended by representatives of all participating institutions, further strengthening professional networks and promoting corporate solidarity within the Region
