The Forestry Commission (FC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources (MLNR) have donated relief items to the people of Samreboi in the Western Region after they experienced severe flooding.
The flooding, which has left a number of people in Samreboi and its environs homeless and has also led to the loss of several valuables, drew the attention of the team to donate the items to support the affected people.
The team comprised the Chairman of Forestry Commission Board, Mr. Isaac Essien, Esq., Dr. Abukari Attah, member of FC Board; Technical Director of MLNR, Mr. Joseph Osiakwan; the Executive Director of Timber Industry Development Division (TIDD) Dr. Richard Gyimah; the Executive Director of Forest Services Division (FSD), Dr. Gordon Kofi Sarfo -Adu and some staff of FC from the Asankragua District.
Mr. Isaac Essien expressed the Commission’s unwavering support to the people of Samreboi and promised his continuous support in this difficult time.
Mr. Joseph Osiakwan, who spoke on behalf of the Minister, Honorable Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, handed over the items to the District NADMO Coordinator, Mr. Elvis Coffie.
The items were twenty (20) camp beds; two hundred (200) pieces of wellington boots; one hundred (100) pieces of Zafin raincoats; six hundred (600) pieces of cutlasses; one hundred and thirty (130) pieces of mosquito nets; one hundred (100) bags of rice; fifty (50) boxes of cooking oil; fifty boxes (50) of mackerel and fifty (50) boxes of tinned tomatoes.
Mr. Elvis Coffie expressed profound appreciation for the items received. He pledged his unwavering support to ensure that the items are distributed with the utmost integrity, transparency, and fairness to the residents of Samreboi during this challenging period
